The FGSV is the independent German network of expertise for research and the transfer of knowledge in the field of roads and transport and your first port of call for access to the very latest, tried and tested practical expert knowledge. 

Neutrality is a core element of both our self-image and our work. We are a strong community of interdisciplinary experts from a wide variety of professional and training backgrounds. For us, neutrality means not being bound to any specific stakeholder. The FGSV is not a lobby association, but is dedicated to the field of road construction and transport and views the sector from a holistic perspective. In this way, we are not committed to any one mode of transport.

This neutrality also plays a key role in the outcome of our work. With the technical standards and specifications we draft, we are setting binding standards that can only be standards if they are neutral.

The work of the FGSV is divided up into several work levels. Right at the top are the FGSV's two co-ordination committees: Traffic and Construction. Each of these is divided up into several working groups, which are themselves made up of steering committees and committees.

For example: do you need specific information in the field of infrastructure management on the maintenance of local roads or sustainability? No problem: we'll put you in touch – quickly and easily – with the right person in our network. 

We will provide you with suitable literature and reliable information on the subject you are interested in: just tell us the subject you are researching and our team at the Information and Documentation Unit (IuD) will put together a suitable literature package, complete with research list and suitable articles.
